Fiery Red – Somebody Knows The Way
The latest EP from Cork artist Fiery Red
Fiery Red have a musical history that goes back to the Punk days of Cork City. From the college band gigs in University College Cork, with The Clammies and Pat O Connell (AKA Joe Rex of the Pfunk band),to sharing the stage with acts such as Microdisney, Nun Attax and Mean Features.
This tradition continued with Stands Looking Back who regularly played Sir Henry’s and Mojo’s venues with such acts as Power of Dreams, The Word, headlining the Carling Rocks festival with regular visits to Dublin to the Baggott Inn.
Radio airplay followed on RTE on the Dave Fanning show with two releases “Stands Looking Back” – the title track and “The Road to Heaven. These were recorded in Sulan Studios, Ballyvourney with Tadhg Kelleher and Dennis Herlihy (RIP) as sound engineers. Remastered material is in the works.
Creative instincts were continued with a series of radio documentaries on artists such as Tim Buckley, Paul Weller, Peter Green , David Bowie and an homage to the music and events of the 1980’s in “Babylon is Burning”.
Fiery Red have continued the tradition of Alternative Indie Rock in Cork City up to the present with a new three Track EP “Somebody Knows the Way”, released on the Longwave label.
